Amidst a background of ethno-religious intolerance in Northern Nigeria, a single father from a minority Nigerian ethnic group, Emmanuel is faced with a parent’s worst nightmare when his only daughter Aisha is kidnapped by an Islamic fundamentalist group Boko Haram, in Maiduguri along with scores of other girls.

After exhausting all avenues available to him, Emmanuel, in desperation, makes a decision that would change his life forever. He embarks on a journey of no return in desperate hopes of finding his daughter Aisha. Aisha, on the other hand, is no longer the shy, little 14-year-old who left home that fateful day months ago.

Journeying through the dusty streets of Maiduguri into the grasslands and forests of Northeastern Nigeria, our story chronicles the human cost of the terrorism and religious extremism in Africa.
